Bethesda planning Fallout 4

Bethesda is already planning follow-ups to Fallout 3, even though it hasn't been released yet. Monday, August 04, 2008 12:00 AM

Bethesda Softworks is planning to develop a fourth Fallout title, even though the third hasn't been released yet.

In an interview with Chris Leyton of TVG, Bethesda's Pete Hines said his studio definitely has plans to extend the franchise beyond a third iteration.

"The whole reason we went out and acquired the licence and that we now own Fallout is that we clearly intended to make more than one," Hines told TVG.

Hines also said the Fallout universe would be developed along the lines of the Elder Scrolls one, continually being worked on and expanded in a similar way to the latter series of games.

Fallout 3 is currently being tweaked, poked and prodded in preparation for a release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
