EA Sports today revealed details of the new online mode included in the latest version of its FIFA franchise.
Dubbed FIFA 09 Clubs, it gives players a chance to create or join user-controlled 'clubs' across the globe.
Squads can be made up of 50 people altogether, all vying to make it into the first team for the Be A Pro: 10 v 10 online team play competitions.
This gives 20 people the chance to play together at once, though unfortunately nobody gets to be the goalie just yet.
Think of the whole thing as FIFA clan matches and you can see it has great potential - if the actual game is good enough, of course.
A playable demo of the latest FIFA game is available from today on the PlayStation Store (for PS3) and for the Xbox 360 on Live Marketplace.
It is also downloadable on the PC from fifa09.ea.com, Football World and the EA Store.
Teams available in the demo are Chelsea, AC Milan, Schalke O4, Olympique de Marseille, Real Madrid and Toronto FC.
In addition to the exhibition match mode, new gamers can practice in the Arena section.
