Resident Evil returns to the Nintendo Wii with Capcom's announcement of Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles.
Capcom is to bring Resident Evil on-rails shooting back to the Nintendo Wii with a sequel to The Umbrella Chronicles. Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is in development exclusively for the Nintendo Wii and will hit retailers this winter.
Capcom will also introduce a classics line to the console by adding bringing Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero with Wii Remote controls, like the company did with Resident Evil 4.
"We are very excited to be bringing the sequel to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles to the Wii as it's the perfect fit for the platform," said Mona Hamilton, vice president of Capcom's marketing.
"We are always looking for new ways to give Capcom fans a chance to experience our games. Umbrella Chronicles was a huge success for us, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles includes a more in-depth co-op experience, and we are excited to bring this exclusive content to the Wii audience."

The Darkside Chronicle's narrative is based on Resident Evil 2 and will see the return of Leon Kenney and Claire Redfield. The game is set to improve upon the on-rails style gameplay with an active camera that will make the gameplay more immersive.
Like Resident Evil 5, gamers can choose to play with an A.I.-controlled partner, or enlist a friend to play via two-player co-op.
