Dead Rising: Case Zero is 2010's fastest selling XBLA title

Capcom's Dead Rising: Case Zero has been confirmed as 2010's fastest selling title on Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) store.

The downloadable game sold 104,000 units during October, while its current number of units sold has now exceeded 600,000, with each download costing gamers 400 Microsoft Points.

Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 was the second best selling game during October, as 98,000 downloads were recorded by Forecasting and Analyzing Digital Entertainment (Fade).

Benjamin Schlichter, director of research and analysis at Fade, said: "Through the 'Games Feast' promotion, and a strong title line-up, Microsoft saw the greatest year-on-year growth in October."

Meanwhile, video game publisher Namco Bandai Games recently announced its Namco Generations range of downloadable video games, which are available from XBLA or Sony's Playstation Network.

The first game released under the Namco Generations brand is Pac-Man Championship Edition DX, which is now available on XBLA and will be available to Playstation Network users from tomorrow (November 24th).
