Pokemon Black and White set to feature new battle systems

2443 Thursday, January 27, 2011 4:26 PM

The upcoming Pokemon Black and White titles will feature new battle systems and over 150 unseen characters.

Triple battles will be seen in the franchise for the first time, which enhance the game's level of strategy and will encourage gamers to adopt a more tactical approach to combat.

In addition, the titles will include a new C-Gear device, enabling players to battle with friends more easily and trade Pokemon using IR communication technology that is incorporated into the software.

A Wi-Fi Random Matchup option is also available in the releases, where gamers can engage in battles online without having to trade friend codes.

Meanwhile, the NPD group recently announced that Nintendo finished last year with America's two best-selling video game consoles.

The DS sold more than 8.5 million units in 2010, while the Wii sold over 7 million and confirmed itself as the country's top-selling home console.

Nintendo's new 3DS console will also be released in the UK on March 25th.
