Green Lantern tie-in previewed for Nintendo 3DS

DS and 3DS among platforms for Green Lantern Tuesday, May 24, 2011 4:43 PM

Its imminent arrival on a three-dimensional platform could have children of the 80s glad it's not become the Red-Green Lantern in order to provide a sense of depth.

But no fear of that, as Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters, scheduled for a June 10th launch date, makes use of the handheld console's lenticular-style screen instead.

This angles each column of pixels towards one of the player's eyes, allowing each to see a slightly different picture and trick the brain into perceiving depth.

For Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters, players can take over the role of Hal Jordan, the pilot whose heroics form the basis of the story.

A new trailer for the game has just been released, giving an insight into gameplay on the Nintendo 3DS.

However, for those who prefer their consoles to have a little more grunt, the game will also be out for the Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360 platform.
