Grand Theft Auto V announced

Rumours about GTAV are already flying thick and fast Wednesday, October 26, 2011 9:17 AM

GTA V, the latest instalment of the all-conquering Grand Theft Auto franchise, has been announced by Rockstar Games.

A logo for Grand Theft Auto V appeared on the company's website yesterday, with a trailer scheduled for November 2nd 2011.

The announcement follows hot on the heels of the recent tenth anniversary of Grand Theft Auto III, which saw the classic game being ported to mobile devices for the first time.

Rumours centre on the game being set in a real world version Los Angeles, though no concrete details have been released so far. If the whispers turn out to be true it will be the first time the GTA series has ventured into a 'real' city since the Grand Theft Auto: London expansion, released in 1999.

However, it won't be the first time a Rockstar game has attempted to map the City of Angels, as Team Bondi's LA Noire pulled of the feat with a recreation of the 1940s metropolis earlier this year.
