It may seem like it was released only yesterday (November 8th 2011 in fact), but Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is getting its first batch of DLC in the new year.
Infinity Ward has announced that Call of Duty Elite subscribers on Xbox 360 will have access to the new content in January 2012.
The "full season of content for Modern Warfare 3 kicks off for Elite subscribers 24th January on Xbox Live," Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling said on the Call of Duty Elite exclusive show Roll Call.
The DLC will follow the tradition of remaining exclusive to Xbox 360 to start with, though PlayStation 3 and PC versions will follow.
Currently details about what Modern Warfare 3 players can expect from the DLC remain under wraps, although Bowling did disclose the new pack will contain a broad range of features, including Spec Ops, and "a variety of things that people have never seen before".
Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software are collaborating on the DLC, and Activision is set to release more details in January.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 had its Christmas number one bid gazumped by The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim earlier this week.
