'Angry Birds' creator Rovio Entertainment announced today that it has purchased 'Hungribles' developer Futuremark Games Studio.
It follows the acquisition of Kombo Animation Studio last year and marks the continuing expansion of the Rovio brand, which encompasses entertainment, publishing, animation and retail.
Rovio's Angry Bird's series has now generated more than 700 million downloads on various platforms, according to USA Today.
Mikael Hed, Rovio Entertainment's, said: "Rovio's success is founded on the excellence of our team, and Futuremark Games Studio is going to be a superb addition."
Jukka Mäkinen, chief executive officer of Futuremark, said that he was "proud" to see his team's talents being recognised.
The recent launch of 'Angry Birds Space' has been a resounding success for Rovio.
On its first day of release it reached the number one slot in 104 countries for Apple downloads and clocked up 10 million downloads by day three.
It sees the birds and pigs from the original title battling it out in space.
