Mistborn books coming to consoles in 2013

Mistborn is a fantasy series set in a world called Scadrial Friday, March 30, 2012 12:59 PM

US fantasy author Brandon Sanderson's book series 'Mistborn' is coming to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC next year.

Video game publisher Little Orbit has announced that the RPG will feature a storyline set several hundred years before the first Mistborn novel, which is to be created by Sanderson himself.

Players will play as the nobleman Fendin 'Fiddle' Fathvell as he attempts to master a powerful rule-based magic system known as Allomancy, which produces enhanced physical and mental abilities by ingesting and 'burning' flakes of metal.

Matthew Scott, chief executive officer of Little Orbit, said he is a "huge" fan of Mistborn.

"Between the distinctive magic system, the story twists Brandon has planned for the game, and the rich depth of character skills, we’re creating something very unique for players to enjoy," he enthused.

As well as the forthcoming video game, there is a Mistborn film in development from Paloppa Pictures and there is already a tabletop RPG out from Crafty Games.
