Sniper Elite V2 stands its ground

Sniper Elite V2 from Rebellion and 505 Games has held on to the number one spot in the gaming charts.
It seems gamers can't get enough of the stealth shooter with its gory X-Ray Kill Cam and World War II authenticity, as last week's new entrant has managed to hold off the resurgent Fifa Street, which climbed back up two places to second.
Since entering the chart at number one in March, Street, which features more fancy footwork than a Michael Flatley routine, has been an ever-present in the top five titles and the weekend's Premier League showdown appears to have fuelled a few more sales for this and Fifa 12, which stays third.
Manchester United fans will no doubt be booting up Fifa 12 today in a bid to erase the memory of Sergio Aguero's title-winning strike on Sunday with a last minute goal of their own and at least get their hands of some (virtual) silverware.
The Fifa duo pushed former number one, Prototype 2 from Radical Entertainment and Activision Blizzard, down to fourth ahead of two more EA titles, Mass Effect 3 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 - both non-movers.
It's a pretty stable chart this week, with Terminal Reality / Lucasarts / Microsoft's Kinect Star Wars, Sega's Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games and EA's Battlefield 3 also all non-movers.
However, behind them, Assassin's Creed: Revelations has been storming up the rankings to tenth from 15th - pushing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 out of the top ten in the process.
Sega's Football Manager 2012 is also making a charge for the top ten having reached number 18 from 25th last week.
Who knows, by the time the Euro Championships start in June, we could have a footballing hat-trick at the top of the charts.
