Crosshair sparks Halo Reach Project Natal debate

Sunday, 31 Jan 2010 18:00
Halo Reach
Bungie has rounded up its responses to a number of wild accusations in recent weeks, most notably about the future of its next step in the Halo series with Reach.

Since releasing screenshots for the project, many fans of the series and those aiming to lambaste it even further noted how the crosshair was skewed to the left in one shot, sparking all kinds of crazy theories.

Sketch and urk, the leading respondents to the claims, said on behalf of Bungie: "Sorry folks, you won't be perpetually leaning to the left nor will you be navigating multiple cross-hairs for various purposes. Truth be told, it's just a good ole fashioned bug."

And it's nothing to do with Project Natal either, he added. Despite many people thinking the crosshair may be part of a greater gaming experience, it's simply just Bug #15163.

A few other things were also addressed, such as confirmation that the Falcon - the "Warthog of the Skies" - will be flyable in both campaign and multiplayer, while civilians (whether alive or dead) will feature to a much greater extent.

Reach is out in the autumn and is set a few days before the events of the first-ever Halo, depicting a time when almost all of the human interstellar colonies have fallen to the Covenant, and Reach being the most fortified world after Earth.
