Data-Fly
Despite what you may have heard, there's been no confirmation that Data-Fly is a PlayStation 3 exclusive.
There's been some confusion over what platforms Data-Fly will be appearing on. The game from Origo Games recently earnt its
first teaser trailer, after being revealed way back in 2005.
As 'Data-Fly,' you'll be tasked with tracking down your creator by using stealth shape-shifting and acrobatic combat. You can read more about the game and watch its first trailer by making your way to
our previous story.
PSU.com framed Data-Fly as a PlayStation 3 game without any mention of other platforms; thus many believed that the game was indeed exclusive to Sony's platform.
However, Data-Fly was first announced for next-generation platforms, including both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In fact, there were reports in 2006 that the team was aiming for a late-2008 Xbox 360 release, with no mention of the PS3.
Of course there is a chance that things have changed in the past few years, like BioShock's platform filp-flopping; however, Origo's CEO Adam McClard frames things in a different light.
He explains that the team is "aiming for PS3 as the lead platform, due to the fact the gamers appreciate more original titles on [the] PS3."
Forgive me for stating the obvious, but if the PlayStation is the game's lead platform, then that means other platforms are being worked on. For now we'll presume that Data-Fly is coming to the PS3, Xbox 360 and perhaps even PCs. It's certainly a game to look forward to, with McClard ecstatically claiming:
"We are going to take gamers so far off the map in terms of visuals and gameplay, nothing will be as it seems."
