Dead Rising 2 confirmed for 2010; movie tie-in too

It's finally been confirmed that Dead Rising 2 will be out before the end of the year, but should we be expecting to play it before 2011?

Well, possibly not. The game, which has been subject to several delays already and is starting to outstay its welcome as a "long-awaited" title, is definitely coming out before the end of the year... in Japan.

And as a Capcom title, it could be that we Westerners will have to collectively hold our horses, as such talk usually points to major delays before a release two or three months down the line.

No matter. To make it up to dedicated fans of the first game, Capcom has also previewed a clip of a super-low-budget George A Romero rip-off film based on the game series, which was kindly translated from Japanese by Joystiq into "Death Disease Contamination Dead Rising".

Brilliant. If the title doesn't sell it to you enough, you ought to check the trailer out; after all, it's not often you see a fully-weaponised wheelchair with chainsaws in action, is it?
