Mass Effect: Jacob's Story
Mass Effect is going portable on Apple's iPhone.

An EA survey has been asking consumers about a new iPhone game titled Mass Effect: Jacob's Story - a $2.99 two hour game that could see new entries if there's a market for the series on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

The game will reportedly take place before the events in the Xbox 360 and PC game Mass Effect 2, and will feature Jacob Taylor, "a biotic-powered super-soldier who stumbles across a plot to terrorize civilization's greatest beacon of hope."

Comprised of a stylised cel-shaded artstyle, the game promises top-down shooter combat in a tale of galactic human courage and individual human achievement.

The game will include the following features:

  • Gripping storyline that enables you, playing super-soldier Jacob Taylor, to prevent galactic chaos.
  • Stylish art presentation delivers an animated graphic novel experience.
  • A blend of nuance story telling with gripping top-down shooter combat.
  • Experience the back story behind some of the main characters in the upcoming Mass Effect 2 (for Xbox 360 and PC).
  • Two hour story-based experience with stunning graphics, animated presentation and top-down arcade-style combat.
