Amazon and others list Gran Turismo 5 release date

We have some good news and some bad news about Gran Turismo 5's release date.

First the good news; the game's release date is listed as December 2009. The bad news is that the date comes from Amazon.com

Its UK affiliate, Amazon.co.uk, recently listed the pre-order price for the PlayStation 3 game as £18, later correcting their mistake and raising it back up to £40.

Still, Amazon.com confidently lists the following release date without caveat:

"This item will be released on December 29, 2009"

Although Amazon.co.uk does not sport this date, other retailers have joined in with an even more optimistic date; December 4th, including Play.com and Shopto.net

A December 2009 release date for Polyphony Digital's game is now surely certain, with an expected announcement to occur during Sony's GamesCom conference in Cologne.

A late-2009 release date has previously been rumoured, with Polyphony head Kazunori Yamauchi claiming that they can release the game whenever they like.
