PS3 cut to €249 by Italian retailer

Thursday, 06 Aug 2009 15:52
PlayStation 3
An Italian retailer has entered the fray of PS3 price cuts, reducing the 80GB console to only 249 euros.

Following our story on a €100 price cut being listed on an online Spanish retailer, an Italian retailer has now joined the party.

Online Italian retailer CHL has cut the PS3 80GB model from €389 to only €249. Quite a significant drop, and lower than the €100 cut that Sony is predicted to announce at GamesCom in Cologne on August 18th.

Could the reason be that they are clearing their stock for a new model, such as the PS3 Slim? For remember, Japanese retailers are also set to discontinue the 80GB PlayStation 3.
