Rare Home items being bought for $60

PlayStation Home content and costumes appear to be getting some love on ebay.

The PlayStation 3's free social networking application PlayStation Home attempts to make some return by selling in-game goods. Sony announced in January that the service had made $1 million from such items.

However, some items are given to PS3 owners for simply pre-ordering or buying a particular video game. If these free items are limited they can gain precedence among PlayStation Home's users over time, leading certain users to desperately bid for their codes on the online auction website ebay.

Two such items are the inFamous and Killzone 2 costumes included with pre-orders. An InFamous reaper costume sold for $27, with the Killzone 2 helghast and ISA costumes selling for a massive $66 - more than the game itself.

Is PlayStation Home really that popular that it's worth spending upwards of $60 for a costume? Or are some gamers just mad?
