PSP Go features faster processor [UPDATE]

Friday, 03 Jul 2009 14:29
PSP Go
The PSP Go is not only a lighter, smaller, disc-less PSP with a funky sliding screen; it also features a faster processor.

According to recently filed documents the PSP Go may feature a faster processor than previous models. The official PSP Go specs actually listed the handheld at the typical 333MHz, but the documents reveal that it'll actually max out at 480MHz.

Like when the original PSP was locked at 222MHz and then increased to the full 333MHz via a firmware update at a later date, the PSP Go might well make use of its full 480MHz processor to run applications faster and potentially render better graphics.

The PSP Go will launch this October at a price of $249/EU249.

[UPDATE] - The PSP Go is not faster than its predecessor.
