Trophies won't come to PSP due to piracy

The PlayStation 3's trophy system won't be coming to the PSP any time soon, due to the fact that the handheld is not secure.

Eric Lempel, Sony's director of PlayStation Network Operations, has stated that trophies are very unlikely to make their way to the PSP, telling Joystiq bluntly that "You're not going to see Trophies on the PSP."

Lempel explains that the Trophy system must be kept secure and the PSP can not ensure this after being continuously hacked. Lempel adds that "if people can artificially inflate their rankings and amounts of Trophies [then it] kills the whole [Trophy] system."

Sorry folks, it doesn't look like trophies will be coming to handheld gaming.
