Nintendo buys its own prime-time quiz show in the UK.

Nintendo has invested in a new quiz show to be aired on UK's channel Five. The platform holder has landed an Advertiser-Funded Programming deal with the channel for a show titled Britain's Best Brain.

Nintendo will use the advertising space to promote their Nintendo DS titles, though they'll be unable to include product placements during the show itself since this is still illegal in the UK.

The deal reportedly cost Nintendo approximately £2 million, according to MCV-UK.

Britain's Best Brain, developed and produced by GroupM Entertainment and Tiger Aspect, will air from October in eight one-hour programmes.

Nintendo’s senior product manager James Honeywell said:

"We’re really excited to be working with Tiger Aspect, GroupM and Five on this ambitious new show and stepping into the realm of AFP for the first time."
