Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata has announced a new balance board game, Rock and Roll Climber, as well as Final Fantasy sequels for WiiWare.
At
his keynote at the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco, Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata talked about Miyamoto's ideas as dishes being moved around, "but never thrown away," so here's one Nintendo has gathered up; Rock and Roll Climber.
Rock and Roll Climber features a human character climbing, where the Balance Board and Wii-mote let you climb by placing your hands and shifting your weight.
At the top of the waterfall you are climbing there's a guitar, with a big rock and roll pay-off at the end of each stage.
"One goal set by Mr Miyamoto and all of us at Nintendo is surprise. For consumers to be surprised, we have to first surprise ourselves," Iwata said.
So are you surprised by Rock and Roll Climber?
Other games to come to WiiWare include Final Fantasy IV The After Years and My Life as a Darklord Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicle - both coming this year.
Moreover, Final Fantasy I to V will be coming to the Virtual Console in Japan, with only I and IV coming to the US (and presumably Europe.)
