Lost Planet 2
The Xbox LIVE teaser for the top secret Capcom game is now available for download. Read on to find out what that game actually is.

We reported on a new game announcement incoming from Capcom. They were to reveal the game through a download exclusively on Xbox LIVE.

That teaser is now available for download. You can find the 436mb download after this link to the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

Get downloading and as soon as we know what all the fuss is about, we'll let you know.

[UPDATE] - The secret game is, as expected, Lost Planet 2.

We knew that the game was coming in 2009, and as is the case with the recently announced Dead Rising 2, we expect it to be a multiplatform title, especially since Lost Planet was eventually released for the PlayStation 3.

[UPDATE 2] - So what have we learnt from the trailer? Well there's a whole load of gameplay footage to watch, with the game being powered by Capcom's proprietary engine, the MT-FrameWork 2.0. The game will include significant climate change, meaning that the snow has now melted, revealing lush jungles.

Kenji Oguro is the game's director, with Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi turning his production skills to Lost Planet 2 also.

The game's story will not just concentrate on the main character like the first, with the story told from the perspective of the different Snow Pirate factions.

Lost Planet 2's gameplay will include many big changes, such as portable shields like Gears of War 2 and Mech robots with passenger seats and turrets.

The footage also suggests that the game might be co-op squad based, with Oguro-san commenting: "After we released [Lost Planet], we heard so many users say that they wished they had been able to take on the Akrid enemies in a co-op mode. You should be able to see our response to those requests in the trailer you just saw."

It also looks like the aforementioned Mechs can be mounted by more than one player - meaning that the co-op won't end when you approach a Mech. We're going to go as far as saying that online four-player co-op is confirmed.

No release date has been announced, but we should hear more about the game soon.

[UPDATE 3] - You can find the first captures from the trailer over at Gamersyde. The entire footage will be uploaded shortly.

[UPDATE 4] - You can now download the full announcement over at Gamersyde. We're still awaiting the streaming version.

[UPDATE 5] - Here it is, but remember to visit Gamersyde for all of the images and a high definition version of this trailer:
