GameInformer didn't see GTAV, they saw...

Twittering can get out of hand if you take it too seriously.

One blogger interpreted the words of GameInformer editor Andrew Reiner as the possible appearance of Grand Theft Auto V.

"Rockstar was just in the Game Informer office. I can't tell you what they showed me, but it might have been Grand Theft Auto V," Reiner tweeted.

For a start, if he couldn't tell us what the game is, he wouldn't then state it in the rest of the sentence. A tweet to previous Edge writer N'Gai Croal unveils the truth: "The V is for Vild Vest."

Wild West? Sounds very much like Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption, announced for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in February.

What Reiner might be nodding towards is that Red Dead Redemption, which utilises Rockstar's GTAIV engine, is very much like Grand Theft Auto.

All doubt is put to rest with Reiner's early morning tweet:

"Again, the game Rockstar brought by was Red Dead Redemption."

So don't get carried away. No-one has seen Grand Theft Auto V; it'll be quite some time before Rockstar reveals that.
