"Yeah, i'm having the problem. After the first mission ends, you reach a loading screen where disc read error pops up. It's so annoying and my console is pretty new too. I refuse to spend money on a new one just to play one game. All my other titles works flawless."

"I had this problem myself. I went to Gamestop to change disc for 3 different times and none of those work. Always the same spot it freezes and instantly Disc Is Unreadable error. Usually that happened on loading screens sometimes even firefight wouldn't work. Only map that worked was Crater day version. Thank you for making a news of this. Been waiting to be heard because Microsoft only says to change the game disc and that doesn't help. Thank you guys for making us heard."

"I actually got this message when I first put the ODST disc in my 360. I assumed my cousin had just put the disc in wrong or backwards, as I re-inserted the disc and it's worked fine ever since. Hmm. Will keep an eye out."

Further it seems like whatever is generating this error has managed to leak over to Halo 3, compromising both campaign play and multi. "Same issue here. Game freezes regularly and I lose saved game data. The 360 now locks up on the dashboard as well as does the Halo 3 disc. If you talk to XBox support, make sure you mention "disc read error" or they will claim they can't find the issue in the database. We need as many people as possible to call in to xbox support and log the issue."

"I unfortunately have experienced similar problems. What i found out, after a series of some frustrating troubleshooting, that the cause of the problem was indeed my hard drive. I also tried it with a different profile to check for the remote possibility of corrupted files, which turned out to be a failure. So, I borrowed my friends memory card(MU) and loaded my main profile on it. Voilaa!! it works. Despite finding out a solution I'm still boody pissed as I'm not able to play ODST online with friends without a hard drive. PS. My hard drive is fine as I was able to play other games without any problems. AND ODST worked just fine without my HDD attached."

"When I had first brought the game home I had insert it in to play...Nothing Happen. All I got was open the tray. So I had open it and close it then it played. (Note)I have the first Gen 360. I had to open the tray again every time when I play ever since. Now It will not read it. That goes for the Multi Disc as well. All my other games works fine. I had a buddy bring his odst over and it did the same on mines. I had took my copy back to GameStop and got another copy. It still did the same thing. I am fed up with all the 360 crap. 2 rrod on the same box and now this???"

"I downloaded it to my hard drive and i cant play it cos you have to use the disc also.. whats the point of downloading it if you still need the disc.. how stupid is that "
