Mass Effect 2 will feature at GDC 2009

Mass Effect
BioWare will present the iterative level design process of Mass Effect 2 at this year's Game Developer's Conference.

Mass Effect was an exciting action RPG that broke western audiences into a new kind of game. Now BioWare are moving forward with Mass Effect 2, and implementing a new process of level-creation that will be showcased and explained at GDC '09.

By learning from the mistakes and issues they encountered in the development of Mass Effect, BioWare has made progress in level-creation by maximising quality whilst minimising cost or having to rework sections.

This enables them to address problems early in the development cycle and they're eager to share their lessons with other developers.

So, other than a discussion of their new methodology, what else can you expect BioWare to show of Mass Effect 2? Reportedly they will illustrate their progress through a graphical example of one of the game's levels. So keep an eye out for this year's GDC.

GDC 2009 will be held in San Francisco from the 23rd March.
