PES 09
The Last Remnant gave a boost to the Xbox 360 in Japan last week. This week the football game PES 09 does the same for the PlayStation 3.
Almost doubling
last week's hardware sales, the PlayStation 3 sold 34,978 units according to Media Create. PES 09 enters the software chart at number two, selling an impressive 168,000 copies in its début week.
The reason the title pushed so much hardware? PES 09 is exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan this year: the PS3 version appears to be the gamer's choice.
PES 09 will only be released for the PlayStation 2, PSP and Wii next year. Then again, the increased sales could be due to the Christmas season kicking in.
Five PSP titles enter the chart, surrounded by DS games and Animal Crossing for the Wii. The top spot goes to Professor Layton 3 for the DS;
we gave the first game in the series an impressive 9/10. You can find the top 10 software and hardware sales below.
