Rumour: PSP Go won't go on sale in France

PSP Go
French distributors are apparently not happy with the digital only PSP Go, which might lead to Sony pulling out of launching the handheld in the country.

French website JeuxVideo is reporting that Sony might be unable to launch the newly announced PSP Go in France.

The handheld doesn't feature a UMD-disc drive, meaning that all game sales will take place digitally over the PlayStation Store, ultimately avoiding retailers and distributors.

French distributors reportedly have no interest in selling the machine without being able to generate profit on game sales and utilising the second-hand market. Instead France will continue to sell the UMD capable PSP 3000.

We'll take this as a rumour charged up by unhappy French distributors for now. The PSP Go is scheduled for an October 1st release.
