Silent Hill
Silent Hill is coming to the Nintendo Wii and will fully take advantage of the console's unique controls.
Silent Hill: Shattered Dreams sounds like an April Fools title to shatter the dreams of Nintendo Wii owners when they realise they won't be getting a new Silent Hill. However, we've been assured that this news is indeed true and comes from the latest issue of Nintendo Power.
A number of features have been revealed, including the following:
Your answers and even your behaviour in the game will affect who you meet and what you see.
The Wii-mote is your mobile phone, with random static or an 911 operator's voice coming from the Wii-mote's speaker.
There will be no direct combat in the game. Instead you will be fleeing from the enemy, which is said to be "considerably more terrifying". Static noise from your Wii-mote will increase as enemies close in on you in order to up the terror. After saying that Resident Evil 5 is just about "shooting monsters with big guns," Silent Hill's creators commented:
"For the nightmare world, the focus is on escape and evasion. We don't want the player to feel empowered; we want them to feel helpless."
The Wii-mote will also be used for many other unique features, such as it being your flashlight, helping you solve puzzles, and enabling you to escape from enemies.
The game is said to include alternate endings and won't feature loading screens.
Silent Hill: Shattered Dreams for the Nintendo Wii currently has no confirmed release date.
