Codemasters announces multi-terrain racing game

Thursday, 21 Aug 2008 17:03
Codemasters will be publishing the new racing game from Asobo Studios
Making up a triumvirate of four letter word driving titles, Codemasters has announced the development of new "multi-terrain racing" game, FUEL.

Development duties will be handled by Asobo Studios, using the same engine as in Colin McRae: DiRT and Race Driver: GRID.

According to the fact sheet Codemasters released at the Leipzig Games Convention today, the game will feature a "playfield" that is over 5,000 square miles in size (14,000 square kilometres).

Fuel will have varying terrains, like deep snow to open wilderness and arid river beds, while "executing death-defying stunts".

The game will be coming out on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in 2009.
