MotorStorm Arctic Edge
The PSP gets a hold of the brutal off-road racing game.
Yesterday Sony announced a selection of new 2009 PSP titles, including MotorStorm Arctic Edge.
Arctic Edge will bring the multi-route tracks, unpredictable terrain and hostile AI that made the PlayStation 3 MotorStorm series so popular.
Developed by the Bigbig Studios, MotorStorm Arctic Edge will take the festival to Alaska, where racers will meet avalanches, broken ice bridges and three different racing altitudes.
The original game's six vehicles will be included in the roster, but two new additions will make their way to Arctic Edge - the Snow-cat and Snow Machine. The former can blast through packed snow, whilst the latter has the grip to combat even the most difficult of sub-zero terrains.
Arctic Edge will also take vehicle customisation to a new level by making parts selectable for each vehicle. Wheels, exhausts and spoilers can all be interchanged. The game will also feature two to eight player online using the PSP's Wi-Fi.
SCEE comments: "The end of 2009 is going to be as cold and challenging as it gets. So lose your t-shirt and your shorts, keep hold of sunglasses and grab your thermals - it's time to take a trip to the top of the world to see if you can conquer the most unwelcoming terrain the planet has to offer."
MotorStorm Arctic Edge is set for the autumn of 2009 and will be available for the PSP and PlayStation 2. Here's the game's première trailer:
