No 2008 release for Gran Turismo 4 on PSP

PSP version of GT4 delayed yet again
The creator of the Gran Turismo car racing franchise, Kazunori Yamauchi, has reluctantly admitted the PSP version of the fourth game in the series will almost certainly not arrive in 2008.

"We had been developing the PSP version, but the problem was that the PS3 version took much more time and effort than we had first imagined," Mr Yamauchi said.

"So that's been delayed - I don't think we'll be able to make the end of this year for the PSP version, but we are working on it."

The PSP version of GT4 has been in development for more than four years and has gone through a number of changes in that time. Multiplayer links between the PS3 version and the PSP game are still included.

"Once we experienced PS3 online and went through all of that, we came to the conclusion that PSP should not be a standalone product - it should be linked in to the world of Gran Turismo, linked with the PlayStation 3," said Mr Yamauchi.
