The Righteous Kill game involves finding a list of clues in overly cluttered crime scenes
Merscom has announced the release today of a casual game based on the upcoming movie, Righteous Kill, which stars Robert de Niro and Al Pacino.
The game, curiously, focuses on neither actor's character, instead dealing with Officer Erica Dean as she investigates a number of killings tied to crimes against women.
With help from Sergeant Vasquez, players will visit 16 different crime scenes containing more than a thousand objects in total, piecing together clues and trying to figure out who the killer is.
The game will feature:
- Animated cut scenes featuring clips from the movie
- Voice acting throughout the entire game
- A 'beautiful' and realistic visual style conveying the New York City setting
- Multiple mini-games bases on detective activities
"This game is perfect for the casual games audience. It is a cutting-edge hidden objects title but also captures the spirit of what we believe will be one of the biggest films of the year," said Lloyd Melnick, Merscom’s chief customer officer.
"We’re very excited about this game and its release so close to the movie’s theatrical release," said Marc DeBevoise , senior vice president of digital media, business development and strategy for Starz Media, which handles digital and on-demand distribution of Overture's (the film company behind Righteous Kill) releases.
"We see this a unique opportunity for the movie and causal game audiences to cross-over and cross-promote to each other."
