Metal Gear Solid 4 didn't go down as well as Sony would have liked in Japan, outshone by the new Tales of Symphonia game
Despite the major release of Metal Gear Solid 4, the Wii is still consistently selling more than the PlayStation 3, much to Sony's displeasure.
Nintendo managed to sell 235,990 units in the five weeks that ended on June 29th, Enterbrain reports.
Over the same period of time, the PlayStation 3 managed a less-than-impressive 129,494 sales.
The defeat, which is the seventh month in a row it has occurred, comes despite the release of Metal Gear Solid 4, which Sony hoped would redress the balance somewhat.
More annoyingly for Sony, Nintendo didn't even release anything special during that month, although Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World did do well in Japanese charts.
Wii Fit is also doing well, outselling Metal Gear Solid 4 by the end of the month, claims Reuters.
