Rock Band expansion on the way

Details for the first expansion for Rock Band have been released today, with the track listing featuring songs by the likes of Nine Inch Nails, the Smashing Pumpkins and David Bowie.

Rock Band Track Pack: Volume 1 will be released for the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 2 consoles, bringing 20 new tracks to the game.

The expansion will go on sale at $29.99 (£15) on July 15th in the US - no official UK price and date has been announced as yet.

On the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, downloadable content is available, so the expansion will be unnecessary on these platforms. The base Rock Band game will launch on May 23rd in the UK, with the PS3, PS2 and Wii editions pencilled in for August 29th.

The tracks featured in the expansion are as follows:

  • Nine Inch Nails: 'March of the Pigs'

  • Paramore: 'Crushcrushcrush'

  • The Police: 'Synchronicity II'

  • Queens of the Stone Age: 'Little Sister'

  • Ramones: 'Teenage Lobotomy'
