Rock Band song transfer possible, but costly

Thursday, 21 Aug 2008 09:42
Rumours still abound that not all the songs from the first game will be transferable
The developer of Rock Band 2, Harmonix, has confirmed to MTV Multiplayer that it will definitely be possible for players owning the first game to transfer songs over into the second.

A PR bod from Harmonix told MTV Multiplayer that the process will require, however, parting with some cash and that it will need two discs.

MTV Multiplayer said that a patch will be issued for Rock Band 1 at the same time the second game is released.

This will add an Export menu option to the main menu, which can be used to enter a password included with purchased copies of Rock Band 2.

MTV Multiplayer said the fee that would then be necessary would "not exceed $5", so at least it won't be too much.

Once the payment is made, Rock Band 2 players will be able to access the songs from the console's hard drive.

Anyway, the second game is coming out in the middle of September, only a few months after the original game made its debut in Europe.
