Diablo franchise to continue after third game

Wednesday, 13 Aug 2008 13:41
Diablo III won't be the end of the road for the franchise, rather it will just be rounding off of the current trilogy 'arc'
Lead designer on Diablo III, Jay Wilson, has told MTV Multiplayer that Blizzard has big plans for the future of the franchise.

He also said the third game will only the rounding off of the current trilogy, rather than the end of the franchise as a whole.

"We're not saying this is the end of the 'Diablo' universe, but we are trying to bring this storyline to a close," Wilson told MTV Multiplayer.

"It's not just 'Diablo III' - we've got plans beyond," he added.

Blizzard hasn't told us when Diablo III will be released, but it would be a safe bet to expect it around the end of the first quarter of 2009.

Although that could be wildly inaccurate, of course.
