Final Fantasy VII will makes its way to the European PlayStation Store this evening.
The amount of PlayStation 1 games released on the PlayStation Store have been few and far between, with many classics missing from the selection.
However, during Sony's E3 press conference on Tuesday, SCEA's CEO Jack Tretton announced that Final Fantasy VII would be made available on the US PlayStation Store that very day. The European Store wasn't similarly graced; that is, until today.
Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VII will be available for download from the PlayStation Store across PAL territories as of today.
Originally released on three discs for the PlayStation 1, the game now consists of a scant download of just over one gigabyte in size.
John Yamamoto, president and CEO of Square Enix comments:
"Final Fantasy VII is the most highly-respected entry in the history of the Final Fantasy franchise, possessing possibly the most memorable storyline in the history of video games.
"It brings me great pleasure to see Final Fantasy VII available to play once again and I am sure that it will create a whole new generation of fans."
