Free Realms
Sony Online's fantasy MMO for 10-14 years old will launch later today.
Free Realms, Sony's free-to-play MMO for young people will exit it closed PC beta later today and be made available to all.
We exclusively revealed at Gamezine.co.uk that the game would be released for PCs in April, and Sony Online has pulled through to make this happen, even if we did at first think the the 1st of April would be the game's release date.
It was a very short closed beta, reaching only two weeks, but the team at SOE feel that the game is ready for public eyes.
The Free Realms' servers will be down for much of the day as SOE add their final patches and run internal tests. And although all beta characters will be deleted, every beta tester will be given an exclusive in-game item by way of a thank you for helping them out.
As has been made very clear,
the game will be free-to-play, but of course there will still be paid for content and a membership at US$4.95 that'll bring new jobs, games, areas, pets and other exclusive items.
The game will be made available for the PlayStation 3 later in the year.
