Teaser website for Piranha Bytes RPG

Piranha Bytes is famous (infamous?) for its work on the Gothic series, which received high praise and heavy criticism in equal measure
Without revealing much actual, proper information on the game, Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes have today unveiled a teaser page for their new role-playing project.
Basically, all we can see on the
website is a mysterious volcanic island in the distance, with a big countdown timer above it.
So, in five days from the time of writing, Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes should be revealing more on the project.
Below the image is an FAQ link, which has all the details of the game that are available so far.
The game will be a new IP (intellectual property), with new mythology, worlds and characters created from scratch.
The setting will be "fictional medieval" and be on the aforementioned island, with the volcano itself apparently playing a critical role in the story.
The FAQ says there will be no traditional RPG 'races' - like orcs, elves or dwarves - to interact with.
Piranha Bytes is, of course, famous for its handling of Gothic III, which met with a mixed reception when it was released a few years ago.
Praised for being ambitious and vast in scope, it was also criticised for being buggy, running badly on a lot of systems and not 'feeling' right, among other things.
This new project, just going by the FAQ, does evoke memories of Gothic, so if Piranha Bytes can rectify the problems of the past, it could be onto a winner.
