GTA IV on the Wii?
Wednesday, 23 Jul 2008 15:40
Will the Wii get a GTA spin-off or even a version of GTA IV?
Reggie Fils-Aime, the boss of Nintendo of America, has said he would love to see a Grand Theft Auto game on the Wii.
His company and the publishers of GTA IV, Take-Two, apparently have a good relationship, which could smooth the series' transition on the relatively underpowered console.
"A 'GTA' on the Wii is all based on what Rockstar and Take Two want to do," said Fils-Aime to MTV.
"And again, from our standpoint, if they build a bottoms-up game that takes advantage of what we do well, I'd love to see it on the platform."
Despite this, Fils-Aime admitted he had yet to have any sort of conversation with Take-Two about the possibility of a GTA Wii title.
Wii enthusiasts say the large user base makes a decision to at least create a 'side project' for the series commercially sensible. But will Rockstar bite?
