MAG's first trailer available for your consumption

Massive Action Game
From original SOCOM developer Zipper Interactive, comes the first gameplay trailer of the PlayStation 3 exclusive MAG: Massive Action Game.

Zipper Interactive is targeting an autumn release for MAG much earlier than we were expecting. But before you get too excited about the game, you better know what the hell it's all about.

The SOCOM developer is producing the first home console online shooter to support 256 players in any one match. To stop this from resulting in chaos, each player will have to enlist in an eight-person squad. This squad is part of a 32-man platoon, and the platoon is part of a 128-man army.

Each group will be ruled by its own leader (real people based on experience) who will issue orders to its members. Although you can choose to follow or dismiss these orders, not only will your army have a much better chance of success if you comply, you'll receive extra perks and points if you listen to your superiors.

There'll be three private armies for you to choose from in this futuristic world, each with their own specific colour palettes. Moreover, each mission is a contract from the government, and if you fail future contracts will be given to MAG's other armies.

In MAG the battle is eternally on-going; even when you're not playing others will be gaining or losing ground for your chosen army. Furthermore, everything on screen happens because a player either made it so (no matter how far away the events are) This really is a massive action game.

So without further ado, here's the game's first gameplay trailer. MAG should be out this autumn with a Beta to land for the lucky few before it releases for the PS3.
