MMOs to be big on PS3, says Sony

The Agency is one of Sony's big hopes for MMO success
Sony has declared it intends to put massively multiplayer online gaming at the forefront of future PlayStation 3 marketing strategies.
In an interview with the Seattle Times, Sony Online Entertainment president, John Smedley, stressed the importance of the online genre to the PS3's future.
"I think MMOs are going to be a real strong selling point for the PS3 long term - there's going to be some great ones on the PS3.
"You're not going to find The Agency on the [Xbox 360]," Mr Smedley concluded.
The Agency, for those not aware of its existence, is an upcoming massively multiplayer online shooter, currently under development for the PS3.
Critics have said, though, that if the PS3 can have these games, there is no real reason the 360 can't either.
PC users, however, would point at the complexity of the controls in most MMO games, the sheer number of keys and commands available, and point to normal gamepads having an inadequate capacity to take such a system on. Unless it were to be hideously dumbed down, of course ...
