Norris roundhousing his way onto mobiles

Friday, 18 Jul 2008 08:59
Chuck Norris destroyed the periodic table, because he only recognizes the element of surprise.
We don't normally do mobile phone game reports on Gamezine, but when a piece of news reaches us about a new game based on Chuck Norris, we feel it is for the greater good that all should know about it.

Gameloft announced yesterday that it has secured a licensing agreement with America's favourite bearded deliverer of crushing roundhouse kicks to the face, Chuck Norris.

The agreement will allow Gameloft to produce a mobile game that will prove "if at first you don't succeed, you're not Chuck Norris".

The game will be called Chuck Norris: Bring on the Pain and will introduce mobile gamers to the star of Firewalker and the Missing in Action series.

Players can choose to be Ranger Chuck or Commando Chuck as he battles the combined forces of Fidel Castro and Kim Jong-il, viciously decapitating the dirty Red scum with roundhouse kicks and destroying the environment with grenades and rockets.

Chuck will also be able to punch down houses with his fists and raze whole forests with his mighty weapon, just like he can in real life.

An interesting feature of the game will allow players to insert their own face (or that of a friend/enemy) into the game and place it on the enemy, so the player can pretend they themselves are being brutalised by Chuck.

There are three reasons Chuck Norris decides to make a mobile game:

  • Chuck Norris decided to make a mobile game so he can hit the bad guys with so many lefts that they beg for a right!
  • Chuck Norris fights evil on all screens. Movie screens, television screens and now the screen of your mobile phone.
  • When it comes to making video games, fighting bad guys puts Chuck in a good mood.

  • Chuck Norris: Bring on the Pain is inspired by Chuck Norris’ true persona and by the legendary cult website, chucknorrisfacts.com. The game will incorporate the site’s tongue-in-cheek sense of humour, as it draws from many of the ‘Chuck Norris factoids’ that fans have enjoyed online for years.

Chuck Norris: Bring on the Pain will backhand chop its way onto mobiles in August 2008.
