Postal hits home with DVD release

Tuesday, 26 Aug 2008 11:16
The Postal DVD isn't currently available in Europe, though import copies can be purchased in various places
Dubbed the first watchable film by director Uwe Boll, the Fallout movie is now available on DVD in the US, it was revealed today.

The film adaptation of Running With Scissors' (RWS) controversy-'em-up surprised virtually everyone by not being utterly awful and, while describing it as 'good' might be going a bit far, it is almost certainly Boll's best movie to date.

Starring Zack Ward and Dave Foley, with Verne 'Mini-Me' Troyer also along for the ride, the film is loosely based on the storyline from Postal 2.

RWS's Vince Desi and Uwe Boll himself both featured in the film in cameo roles, with latter being the proprietor of a Bavarian 'crypto-Nazi' theme park.

DVD extras include a commentary by Boll, deleted scenes, special features (“Raging Boll” and an Indiana Jones spoof starring Troyer) along with a copy of the PC version of Postal 2, plus the multi-player Postal 2: Share the Pain.

A Blu-ray edition (with identical extras) will also be available for the PS3 or other Blu-ray players.

"Own a piece of history! Only buying the DVD will get you the full complete outrageous movie and game ... sadly the rental version is edited down and doesn’t include the infamous Postal games," explained Vince Desi.

"The Postal Movie on DVD means everyone will have the opportunity to see it, even Osama Bin-Laden from his cave won’t want to miss this."

There is no news yet on when the DVD will be released in Europe, however.
