PS3 owners report freezing errors on GTA IV

Niko finally tracked down the man responsible for his copy's freezing errors
A relatively small number of PlayStation 3 owners have complained about freezing problems when running Grand Theft Auto IV on their consoles.
"I got home from the midnight release with my copy of GTA IV Collectors Edition unpacked it live on the feed installed and guess what, it froze!" said Matt Griffin on his blog, PlayStation Network Home. "I tried a couple more times and it even have reinstalled 3 times, it still keeps freezing."
Similar reports are cropping up on other gaming sites, including the official US PlayStation forums. Initially, it was believed to have been a problem exclusive to 60gb launch units, but it was soon apparent on 20gb consoles as well.
A handful of Xbox 360 units have also allegedly frozen during play, but the problem is nowhere near as widespread as on the PS3 version.
In case readers are worrying their copy may not run, it needs to be said that the problem is affecting a very small percentage of players, considering how many copies have been sold in the last ten hours.
