Rockstar Announce New PS3/360 Game

Rockstar Games has drawn the veils from a new autumn 2009 release for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Red Dead returns with Red Dead Redemption, following Rockstar San Diego's 2004 hit Red Dead Revolver.

It's a Western epic set in the early 20th Century at the beginning of the Industrial Age. It's a story of outlaws and adventures. Rockstar's Sam Houser comments:

"The team at San Diego have massively exceeded our expectations with the sheer depth of experiences in Red Dead Redemption.

"The seamless combination of breathtaking beauty and intense action, all woven together with strong plotlines in a massive vibrant, rural environment is mind-blowing. We think this game helps to push the limits of what an open-world gaming experience can be."

The game will utilise Rockstar's current-generation engine to create an open-world environment for players to explore - towns, rolling prairies, and mountain passes. In this landscape players will take part in gunfights, meet unique characters, struggle in the wilderness and pick their own path in an epic story. Sounds like Grand Theft Auto The Western.
