Saints Row 2 team unconcerned by censors

Thursday, 09 Oct 2008 08:56
I wonder if you can control Tera Patrick at any point in the game...
Edge Online has reported that the people behind Saints Row 2 aren't concerned by a possible censorial backlash.

This is because, according to Craig Mitchell of THQ, the team followed the ESRB guidelines.

The question of the censors has been raised today due to reports the game features characters 'streaking', although Mitchell maintains that, even if the front-blurring were to be 'hacked', the models are all 'asexual' and therefore people wouldn't get an ogle at some 'naughty bits'.

Interestingly (depending on your viewpoint) Saints Row 2 has a streaking 'mode', where 'Respect' points are earned by running nude near as many people as possible.

Presumably you get clobbered by the fuzz after a while. The question is can you go into missions and cut-scenes 'au naturel'?

And they say gamers are an immature bunch...
