Wednesday, 25 Jun 2008 14:21
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem there will be a PC version this time out
Electronic Arts has announced that Chicago Bulls forward, Luol Deng, will be the cover athlete and 'spokesman' for NBA Live 09 in the UK.

Deng, raised in the UK from 1993, has played in the NBA for three years and is the biggest star on the British national team.

"I’m proud to be the first British athlete chosen to appear on the NBA Live cover in the UK," enthused Deng. "It’s an honour to be recognized by EA Sports as a UK ambassador for NBA Live 09 and I’m looking forward to playing for the Great Britain national team."

Other areas will have their own localised cover stars, as has been the trend for a few years now.

The default cover player is France and San Antonio Spurs' point guard, Tony Parker. In Italy, Andrea Bargnani of the Toronto Raptors graces the game's coveer, while Spain has Pau Gasol of the Los Angeles Lakers.

NBA Live 09 has a few new features like Pick and Roll Control, Defensive Lockdown Control, Signature Playcalling and Quickstrike Ankle-Breakers.

A 'training camp' feature allows for new players to get to grips with the game in a non-competitive environment, while the 'NBA Academy' mode gives players a chance to hone their skills.

NBA LIVE 09 features a FIBA World Championship Mode using the FIBA tournament structure, rules and court dimensions.

Online play now comes with 5 v 5 team play, where ten people can play together on ten different consoles around the world.

NBA LIVE 09 will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3,Wii, PlayStation 2 and PSP. The game will be in stores on October 7th in North America and on October 14th worldwide.
