NHL 09 demo available on PSN

Friday, 22 Aug 2008 08:55
The Xbox 360 demo will be out early next month, probably around the same time as the full game
The next game in EA Sports' NHL ice hockey franchise is coming out soon and the demo is already with us.

Ok, so it is currently only available on the PlayStation Network, but Xbox 360 owners will be able to get their hands on it in early September.

The full game will have the Be A Pro mode, where you can play through the 'career' of an up and coming ice hockey superstar.

A 'Performance Tracker' will rate your performance in each match, demonstrating where you need to improve and so on.

Online play will also be bolstered somewhat, with six vs. six modes and the ability to level up a created player.

As for the actual game engine itself, a new 'Defensive Skill Stick' option has been added, allowing for an improved poke check, blocking passing lanes or lifting an opponent's stick on defense.

September 9th is the current release date on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with other versions to follow soon after.
